Mind Crushing Day....

On the 13^th of November, we in partnership with our brother club the Rotaract Club of Madras, helped organize the event “Mind Crushers 2010” which was organized by the Madras Midtown Round Table 42 at the Lady Andal School premises. We helped first with the registrations and later also helped out backstage. More than 10 members from our club were part of this venture. Also, our Club team, comprising Rtrs. Yasin, Deepak and Karan took part in the quiz and narrowly missed out on being crowned the “Best College Team”. 

Mass Awareness Campaign

            On the 11^th of October 2010, which incidentally in the dat coinciding with our Rotaract Year (10-11), the Rotaract Club of Loyola College organized 26 projects to commemorate our 26^th year of inception.

1. SMS Campaign against the use of plastics.
2. SMS Campaign against deforestation and requesting the planting of new trees.
3. SMS Campaign against the criminal waste of paper and requesting its proper utilization.
4. SMS Campaign for the protection of the rights of Transgenders.
5. SMS – Fact a day
6. SMS – Trivia for the day.
7. Letter Exchange with the Rotaract Club of Stella Maris College on the occasion of World Post Day.
8. Celebration of the Birthday of our Chief Projects Organiser, Rtr. Bharath Ram
9. E-Mail Campaign for awareness about Blood Clots and Stroke.
10. E-Mail Campaign about Cell Phone Usage and its Hazards.
11. SMS Campaign requesting people to keep Chennai neat and tidy.
12. SMS Campaign informing people about the hazards emitted from the computer.
13. Signature Campaign for the Save Tigers Project.
14. Fund Raising for the Little Flower Charity show.
15. Fund Raising for “Rise and Shine” – another Goodwill Show.
16. SMS Campaign on United Family – Happy Family.
17. SMS Awareness Programme on STDS.
18. SMS Campaign on Pulse Polio.
19. E-Mail Campaign on LPG Gas expiry Date.
20. E-Mail Campaign on Energy Saving Bulbs
21. E-Mail – Thought for the day
22. E-Mail – Joke for the Day
23. E-Mail – Awareness on 25 Smart  products for 2010

Our projects were widely appreciated and the response was overwhelming. We are indeed happy would like to continue in the same manner.  ! 

The Discovery of Gold !

The title might sound odd to you. But, on reading this, you'll agree with me, nodding your heads both ways that its definitely right. The Rotaract Club of Loyola College, jointly with the Rotaract Club of Loyola Community, hosted RYLA - Aurum '10 in September. And , people have been so enthused by it that they have even started a Fan Page on Facebook for that. All that we can say to you fans is a big "Thank You". And Hope you all had fun.

As for those who missed out, well, there is always a next yr ;)
